STORY BEHIND YOUR PSEUDO:

SUIKO is a Japanese word which has been used for long time. I use this name for my theme which is “to believe in my sense without being captured by the existing worth”.

FIRST AND RECENT GRAFFITI EXPERIENCES:

I began around 1999-2000 but I was studying Art till then. At that time, graffiti was not permeated in my city. I had the chance to meet with a few graffiti writers which were painting and became fascinated with this world.

INFLUENCES AND INSPIRATION:

Many and from different backgrounds: Rapper, DJ, skater, and other kind of artists like an image writer, a builder, etc.

OTHER EXPERIENCES THAT HAVE HELPED SHAPING YOUR STYLE:

Calligraphy and Ukiyoe (Japanese woodblock prints) inspired my Chinese character designs.

WHAT IS GRAFFITI ALL ABOUT TO YOU?

A lifework. I will be crippled without graffiti in my life.

PERCEPTION OF THE CURRENT GRAFFITI SCENE IN YOUR COUNTRY:

It’s not very big but there are many individual graffiti writers in Japan.

3 WORDS THAT WOULD BEST DEFINE YOUR STYLE:

Stroke, color, evolution.

CHARACTERISTICS THAT SETS YOU APART IN THE GRAFFITI SCENE:

I traveled around the world. Then I got a Japanese identity.

FAVORITE SPOTS TO PAINT GRAFFITI:

I can’t say my favorite spots because I’m looking for new walls every time…

WHAT DOES TAHITI REPRESENT TO YOU?

I hear that Tahiti is the most beautiful place. I’m excited in that I stay and paint there.
